Gallery guidelines.

The Boring bit

First important thing to note is that images can only be deleted and not recovered, so make sure your not resizing the origional . MAKE A COPY PLEASE !

At the start I’m going to rely on common sense for this list, with the hope that I won’t have to add too it.

1/   Please do not criticise work without giving a constructive idea that might improve the shot. Many arguments are caused by remarks like , “this is rubbish,” I don’t like that” or other phrases like those, These can and often do cause offence.

A more sensible critique would be , I’m sorry but I don’t like that because…. , or Now I might be wrong but I feel that…

Of course only critique work, that has been catagorised as “Help & critique”

Although don’t forget to remark on other catagories as well, it’s always nice to hear ,”nice composition” , or “thanks for showing” etc

After all we all like compliments.

I say that because you must not forget that this is an international site and some members, may not understand totally English/American languages or humour.

2/   Very simple , keep it clean in language and images. I see no problem in artistic nudity but anything that the admin finds moving towards pornographic, will be removed immediately, resulting in one warning to the uploader . a second would risk being banned from the site.

  1. Hi to one and all.
Picked up my 1st DSLR six weeks ago complete novice at this but I now know how to turn it on.
Came to this site after seeing the link on YouTube from following Videos on Phills channel, and I’m certain I will learn a lot more from this site.
Many thanks to Phill for the time and effort making these Tutorials.

I have followed you on YouTube for a while but I am new to this site. I am very much looking forward to see where this might lead. PS Will manipulated photos also be accepted ??

Hi Phill, it seems like your You-Tube channel has led many ‘wannabe’ photographers to this site, now I am the latest addition to the family. I love photography and haven’t a clue what I am doing – most the time I think I just get lucky 🙂 I am hoping to be brave enough to add some of my shots to the gallery for critique but meanwhile I will just enjoy learning more and hopefully get better and better. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. Regards Tracey.

    • Sorry , I’ve just seen your message. Photography is a great hobby and sometimes luck is more important than skill. The thought behind an image is much more important than the technical knowledge needed to execute it.
Upload a few shots , although I think you may have already, as I’ve seen that name before :))
